A sturdy wooden board without glues or resins. A circular wooden plug is used to fill blemishes in the wood on the cutting side.

Serving side - textured

Cutting boards, cheese boards and such like combine art and usefulness in ways that appeal to our eyes and our hands. Because they are made of wood, a living medium, they still move, expanding and shrinking. They absorb the oils we use to show the beauty of the grain, so we have to oil them often. When we wash them we have to replenish their oil. When we use a rainforest timber from wet country and take it to Alice Springs it may crack or warp just because it is losing its moisture. The only remedy is to oil it often. If we finish it with resin so it doesn't crack, then it isn't food safe. So we really can't guarantee that your board will always be beautiful. Maintenance is your best bet, and old age really is still beautiful.   - Buddy (Jo's Dad)

Your board has been handmade without glues or resins. It has been seasoned with edible flaxseed oil. Wash by hand, rub down with flaxseed oil as needed and leave in a shady place to dry.
